Request Friendship
"Oh, hey, Nick!" Briana Reed said into the phone. "What's up?"
"Hey. Nothing much. Very bored. You busy today?" Nick asked tracing the thread on his comforter.
"No. Why? What do you have in mind?"
"Nothing that awesome. I just thought that maybe you wanted to hang out since I haven't seen you in a week!" He stopped tracing.
"Um. Ok. I have to ask my mom first though." Briana left the phone on the table and came back a few minutes later. "She said yes. I'll be over there in, like, 5. I still have to get dressed."
"Okay."
"Bye." She hung up and tossed the phone on her bed. Briana opened her closet and took out this outfit:
She came downstairs and slipped on a pair of white flats.
"Bye Mom! Love you! Call you later!" Briana headed across the street to Nick Jonas' house. Nick and his brothers have been best friends with her since she moved to New Jersey two years ago. They had greeted her and helped her and her mom move in. Briana got to the door and knocked. Joe opened the door.
"Hey, Joe!" she gave him a hug.
"Hello, Beautiful!" he smiled and hugged her back. "How's it goin'"
"It's wonderful in New Jersey." She laughed. "Where's Nick?"
Joe started laughing too. "He's in his room. On the computer." Briana ran up the steps to Nick's room.
"Hey, Nick." She sat next to him on his bed. "Who you talking to?"
"Hey, Bri. I'm talking to Miley." She was reading over his shoulder.
"Oh. Can I talk to her?"
"Sure. I have to go talk to Kevin about something. You can talk to her until I come back." Nick left the room and Bri started chatting.
NickJ- Hey, it's Briana.
SmileyMiley- Hey! Where did Nick go?
NickJ- he went to talk to Kevin about something.
SmileyMiley- Oh. Ok. So... what are you up to?
NickJ- Nothing. Hanging out with Nick and his brothers.
SmileyMiley- Oh. Kewl! We have to hang out sometime. How about tonight?
NickJ- sounds great. What do you want to do?
SmileyMiley- Oh. Just hang out. Go to a movie, eat some dinner??
NickJ- Ok. Sure.
SmileyMiley- Ok. Well... I'll call you at like 6. Ok?
NickJ- Ok. Bye.
SmileyMiley- ok. Tell Nick I said bye.
NickJ- I will.
NickJ signed off 2:02pm
SmileyMiley signed off 2:03pm
As Briana was closing the laptop, Nick walked in.
"Hey! I'm going to have to leave early because Miley and I are going to hang out later."
"Okay. What time?"
"Oh. Around six."
"Okay. Joe and Kevin are going to the mall? Do you want to come too?"
"Yeah. Sure!"
"Then put my laptop on the desk and lets bounce!"
She did what she was told and left the room right behind Nick. When they got downstairs, Joe and Kevin were sitting on the couch watching a movie.
"Joe!" Briana jumped on his lap. "Come on Joseph!! Let's go to the mall!!"
"Well, get off of me then!" He pushed her off of him and got up. Kevin and Nick were outside already.
"Piggy-back, Joe!" he bent over a little and Briana hopped on his back. "Sweet! You can carry me!" They got out the door and walked down to the car in the driveway.
"Yeah, you aren't really that heavy. You don't weigh anything really." He tilted his head sideways to look her in the eyes. Briana blushed and looked away. Joe noticed and stopped walking. Briana got off and started walking towards the car, but Joe grabbed her hand. She turned and faced him. Their faces were inches apart. Joe stared into Briana's beautiful green eyes, the wind was blowing and Briana's light brown, highlighted hair blew in her face. Joe wiped it away and kissed her on the lips. Briana quickly pulled away when she heard Nick shout, "JOE!!!!!" She whipped around and saw Nick almost in tears. Before either of them could say anything, Nick ran in the house to his room.
"Kev-" Joe started to say but was cut off by Briana.
"Joe, what the heck was that all about?! I'm 14! You are 18! It's not going to work out! Nick hates me now! You know, I kinda liked him. Now my chance is ruined!" She punched him in the stomach and ran in the house to find Nick and explain.
Joe and Kevin's P.O.V~
"Dude, are you crazy?" Kevin said. "You know, Nick likes her!?"
"Yeah, I know. I don't know what I was thinking!! I'm sorry, ok?" He walked to the car and got in.
"Don't tell me sorry!!!! Tell that to Briana and Nick! You hurt them bad!" He ran to the car window before Joe started it.
"Don't run away from them. You have to face them some time, Joe." Kevin opened the door and pulled Joe out. He noticed that Joe's eyes were glossing over and hugged him tight. "Man, it's okay! Don't cry because you kissed her. I'm sorry I made you cry, Joseph."
"I'm not crying because of that. You didn't make me cry." Joe sniffed. "I just don't want our friendship to be all AKWARD."
"Okay, well.....when Nick and Bri are done talking about what just happened, you go talk to Nick then I'll help Briana. Okay? Sound good?" He let go of Joe and shut the car door. They walked inside and sat on the couch watching MTV.
Nick and Briana P.O.V~
Nick was in his room face down on his bed. Briana got to the door and heard soft crying coming from behind it. She knocked once and no one answered. She pushed the door open and tip-toed to the edge of Nick's bed. Briana hated that he was crying and wanted to hug him and comfort him until he was better. Too bad he was crying because of her!
"Nick,..." Briana started and sat on the bed next to him. "Hun, Joe kissed me. I don't like him. I'm sorry that you think I would hurt you like that. I know you wouldn't even in a million years ever never, hurt me. I'm sorry, Nicholas." She got up and left his room. When she got to the bottom of the steps, Joe turned around on the couch and walked over to her.
"Hey, I'm sorry I ruined your life." He couldn't even look her in the eyes.
"You didn't. It's okay, Joe. Give me a hug." He reached out and hugged her tight. "I still love you, Joe. You are my best friend and you act like the brother I never had. I'm sorry for what I said."
"It's okay, Briana. I know, it was my fault. Not yours. I love you, too." They separated and just stood there not talking for a few minutes. Kevin came in from outside with a girl that Briana has never seen before. Kevin has a new girlfriend? When did this happen? That's pretty weird.
"So, Kev, who is this person?" Briana asked as she shook the girl's hand. "I'm Briana Reed. I'm Nick's girl----um...friend. I'm Nick's friend. This is Joe, my other friend and Kevin's younger brother." The girl smiled. Her teeth were as white as a cloud. She was about, maybe, 5'6-5'7, her hair was a golden blonde with caramel color highlights, she was thin and had an athletic build.
"Hi, Briana, Joe. I'm Janelle. I just moved here and I was taking a walk when I accidentally ran into Kevin, while he was getting the mail." she turned to Kevin, "I'm sorry about that, Kevin. I really didn't mean to. Can we like forget that it ever happened? I usually don't run into hot guys that often." Janelle laughed. Kevin blushed. Well, it looks like Kevy has a wittle crush on little ‘ol Janelle! Awww! That is so cute! Briana thought. She just really can't believe that she said she was Nick's GIRLFRIEND! Bri just can't get him off of her mind! Oh no! Am I in love? I haven't felt like this about Nick before. I don't want to love him. Well.............. I think I don't want to be. Maybe I do? I have to go tell him. I don't want him to hate me for what Joseph did!! Excuse yourself, Doofus!
"Well, Janelle, it was nice meeting you, but I must get back to Nick. Kevin will give you my cell phone number. We can do lunch?" Briana said going backwards up the stairs.
"Yeah! That will be great! I'll call you later? Tomorrow?" Janelle smiled and looked at Kevin for back up.
"Yeah, all of us can go. Well if you want to, Briana. If you don't already have plans with Nicholas." He looked at Janelle then at Briana. She knew that look all too well. It was the make-up-an-excuse-so-I-can-get-to-know-her-by-myself look. Briana picked up on that quickly and racked her brain for an excuse. Well, Nick, I think, maybe, just maybe, we do have plans. I'm coming over here and Nick and I are just going to hang out. ALONE. Get this thing sorted out. Poi-fict!
"No, sorry, Hun. I have plans with Nicholas tomorrow. I'll have my people call your people." Briana laughed. "No, I'm just kidding. I'll call you when I am done with him. I don't think I will be free at lunch time, so maybe at night, we can go to the movies. A double date!! You and Kev, and me and Nick. What do you say?" Joe jumped in.
"WHOA!!!! WAIT ONE BURGAR FLIPPING SECOND. Who am I going with?"
"No one. You aren't going, Joseph." Kevin intercepted quickly.
"WHY?!"
"You don't have a date, Hun." Briana said.
"Well, Bri, you guys go have fun!" Joe walked away and into the kitchen.
"Ok, well, I'm sorry, Janelle. I have to go right now. Nick and I have to talk. Kevin, take Janelle around for a tour of the city!" Kevin smiled at that thought and grabbed her hand. Janelle blushed and looked at her feet, which were slipped into a pair of slip-on vans.
