My Favorite Teen Angst Song...

...it has got to be "Motivation Proclamation" by Good Charlotte.

I know it's not one of their more famous singles, since it's from their very first album. However, both Joel and Benji were just getting out of their teens--both so young (I know, because they're twins...haha.), I feel like they captured the emotion of just being a teen.

Angst, for me, is hard to define. Yes, there is a dictionary definition of it, but personally, it's more of a feeling you get, especially as a teenager, having all these problems face you for the first time and not knowing what to do.

The song speaks volumes to me. You can feel that the narrator is giving up on life, somewhat, and is looking for something to live for. He's angry to the person he's talking to, but also wants to know that they will be there to "pick [him] right off the ground".

Yes, it has a basic gloomy undertone to it, but this is just what reflected me best at those days where I was angry at the whole world yet needed all of my friends next to me.

My entry's late, I know. But you can't blame a girl for trying, huh?
