    Tour Journal Chicago, Minneapolis, Indianapolis

Wednesday, July 25, 2007, 03:20 PM EST [General]

Hey guys, this is Leif and we're writing to you from the Midwest! The last few days out here have been absolutely crazy. We spent the end of last week making the ungodly 37 hour drive from Seattle to Chicago. I don't know if anyone out there has had the pleasure, but I'll tell you this... After being on the road for that long straight, even the worst bed known to man looks like the softest, most wonderful bed ever to exist.... Anyways, enough about the travel...

After that absurdly long drive (yes I'll let it go eventually) we arrived in Chicago to play a rare daytime show. Our hosts, the wonderful people from Mix 101.9, definitely knew how to take a late afternoon in the park and turn it into a real party. Instead of playing with our usual amplifiers turned up and our drummer Skeeter slamming a full kit, we were asked to perform our entire set acoustically. It was a great way to change things up out here. All of us definitely look forward to coming back to Millennium Park in the future.

Almost as if we had missed a turn coming from Seattle, the band drove back to the home of the Metro dome, Prince, and ex-governor/wrestlers, Minneapolis, Minnesota. After walking around the city and catching up on some much needed sleep, we arrived at our venue "The Bitter End". As a band we've never head the pleasure of playing in Minneapolis and we were all blown away at how great all of the fans were. I think Mike said it best, "People from the Midwest are just nice."... and just to let you know Minnesota, I heard a rumor that we might be back in some way, shape, or form before the end of the year.

Finally, just as quickly as we got there, we left Minneapolis and shot back to Chicago to play their House of Blues. I have a personal attachment to this club because when I was 20, I flew half way across the country to see a show here. Being able to return on the other side of the stage was a surreal and incredible experience for me. Their staff was great to work with and we were fortunate enough to have some family fly out for the performance. The night was absolutely incredible for many reasons, especially because it was Kurtis' birthday! We left with our Virgin rep Allison, and headed to a place called "The Easy Bar" and the only reason I mention the name of this place is that they played the best mix of music I think I've ever heard in a bar. Definitely check it out. Last night we played at the Vogue Theatre. It's a different looking place with kind of an old west vibe but in a very cool way! The show went amazing despite the crazy feedback we had on stage that no one could figure out how to get rid of. We stayed for the whole night watched Rocco play and met everyone after the show. We are about to leave our hotel and head to St. Louis. We hope to see everyone at the show!!!!!

Tour diary Portland Oregon to Seattle Washington

Wednesday, July 25, 2007, 03:20 PM EST [General]

Hello everyone, we hope everyone had a great weekend! We just checked out of our hotel room in Seattle Washington and are at some mall some where in Seattle. Some of us are getting food, some of us are at Best Buy and I am in the bus writing to you because I am a machine and I don't eat, and you deserve to know about our adventures. After we left San Francisco, we made the long ride to Portland, Oregon. The ride felt like two days but we passed our time with playing Xbox Tiger Woods, Ping Pong (where Leif holds his title) Madden, and watching the Pick of Destiny (which I advise everyone to see, trust me). After stopping a few times to eat terrible rest stop food, and eating Jeff's' Beef Nuggets (don't ask) we finally arrived in Portland around 5 in the morning. After getting our hotel keys, Kurtis and I went up to our room. Our keys were not working so we kept trying for at least 7 or 8 minutes. Then when the terrified man who was staying in our room finally said something, we realized we had been told the wrong room number. After getting a new room we all passed out. We had the next day off and took advantage of the hotel pool. Mike and Jeff invented a new pool work out routine and most of us relaxed before our show. The next day we headed into the city of Portland. Portland is beautiful with a lot of cool shops and little boutiques. We arrived at the Crystal Ballroom right as Rocco and the boys were sound checking. I had a chance to bounce on the floor of the venue. The Crystal Ballrooms wood floor back in the day was made for swing dancing, so the entire floor has a bounce to it, pretty interesting! The Ballroom is a really unique place and had a really cool vibe to it. I got a chance to watch Sarah Barellis set before ours, and if you don't know who she is she has a beautiful voice. We finally took the stage and under the extremely hot circumstances of the room we played a really good set. The crowd was amazing and really welcomed us. The set was smooth and afterwards we had a chance to meet some people at the show.

Afterwards I caught Rocco's set which was amazing and Kurtis, Leif, and I took advantage of the 80s night club that was right near our dressing room. After spending some time in downtown Portland we got back to our hotel and raided the 711 across the street where we proceeded to buy everything in the store that's bad for you.

The next day was a day to do some radio and get ready to head to Seattle. The drive to Seattle was short and the view of MT Reiner was amazing. We checked into our hotel and only had a few hours to get dressed and ready to head to sound check. Brendan, Jeff, and Leif stayed next to me, Kurtis, and Skeeter so we opened the door between the two rooms and made it one big suite, pretty fancy huh? We arrived at the Showbox, sound checked, and had some time to eat and hang for a bit. After learning about cameras, and taking pictures with Brett (Keyboard/guitarist for Rocco Deluca), we took the stage. The show was good and even Ely got on the mike and told the crowd that he woke up naked singing one of Sarah's songs. The show was really good, despite a tough monitor mix we made it through and the crowd was very cool. We hung for the rest of the night, watched Rocco's set and met the entire venue out at our bus. After going out in downtown for a while we headed back to our hotel and crashed.

We had the next day off and everyone went to see a Seattle Mariners game. I opted to stay behind to see the city because I'm just not really into baseball. Now we are getting ready to head to Chicago which should be amazing. We are really excited to spend some time in the city. We hope to see you all there!!!!! We love you............ Anton

    Tour Journal

Monday, July 16, 2007, 12:03 PM EST [General]

Ok so I just got done writing about the first few days of tour, and I just erased the whole thing by accident, I'm not happy right now so just stay with me. The tour started off in Orlando, FL where we played the Red Hot & Boom XL 106.7 Radio event with Katherine McPhee, Elliot Yamin, The Click 5 and Rooney. We got to Orlando and it was so hot, which was terrible for mine and Mike's hair! We had a lot of down time so some of us slept, some of us ate, and some of us slept! Ely jammed on stage with Elliot Yamin and after his set and the most insane fireworks we have ever seen we took the stage. It was the first time we have ever played on a floating stage a hundred yards away from the people seeing the show. We beat the heat and the rain and played a good set before leaving on a boat to bring us back to the hotel. We didn't get eaten by any Gators, and got a chance to hang with the Click 5 and Rooney guys. We got some late night food, before going to sleep. We headed out the next morning for Los Angeles. After a long flight, we got to LA, checked into our hotel, and had a couple days off to hang out, rehearse and get ready for our first show of the tour with Rocco Deluca and the Burden. We arrived at the Henry Fonda Theatre Friday, met Rocco and the band; sound checked and had a lot of down time before we went on. We had a chance to see and hang out with some people who worked on the record and some friends from the area we haven't seen in a while. We thank everyone who came out to the show. The show went great for the first show, the venue was packed and people were into the set. After the show we hung out a bit, visited some friends and then headed back to the hotel. We had the next day off. Then Sunday morning we packed up and headed to San Diego. It was a short drive so it wasn't too bad. We arrived in Sand Diego where I dropped my phone and broke it. I got completely bugged out, then got to the hotel and relaxed a bit. Jeff our tech/LD and I went to the movies to see Transformers, and it was amazing by the way, I don't care what you say!!!!!! We checked out of the hotel, and headed to the second show on the tour The House Of Blues. We arrived early and we all had a chance to hang out, eat, and shop in the city. San Diego is beautiful and we wish we had more time to see the city. The House of Blues in San Diego has a really cool vibe. We played an early set and the scene was really chill. We played a great show and then had some time to hang out after the show and meet some people before taking off to San Francisco. The ride to San Francisco seemed like it took 30 hours. After stopping in Burbank at some crazy Diner for a quick bite where we met the nicest waitress ever we were back on the road. We ended up getting to San Francisco at 9 in the morning. We checked in, slept and headed out to do some radio promo. Later that day we headed to the club. We arrived at the Independent; sound checked and had some time before our set. The Independent was great it was a packed house and we played a great set. The people at the show made us feel very at home, and we stayed after our set to see Rocco play. We hung out shortly after Rocco's set before heading back to the hotel. After a great nite and wondering where all this Pizza came from, we finally got to sleep. We have the day off today to do radio promo, laundry and relax. And then, we are going to see the amazing sites of San Francisco!!!!!!! We will be taking pictures on the road so be looking for those. Ok I need to eat and do laundry, and housekeeping keeps knocking on my door! We leave tomorrow afternoon for Portland Oregon and hope to see you all in your city soon.... I'm off, cheers!.  -Anton
