Repressed German teens exploring their budding sexuality? We say, what! 2008
Grammy-winning composer/songwriter and indie rock fave Duncan Sheik transforms the
notoriously banned 1891 Franz Wedekind play, Spring Awakening, into a theatrical piece
as chic as the latest meatpacking hotspot while giving galvanizing voice to our inner
    recuperating adolescent.

Awakening awoke at downtown's Atlantic Theater and moved on to nab multiple awards.
Add choreography by Bill T. Jones and you've got a groundbreaking performance.

Heads Up: Challenging its audience with a starkly honest exploration of teen angst in
songs like "Totally F*cked", this must-see music infused experience refreshingly startles
    as it stimulates.

"This is the sound of your iPod, of alt-rock radio, of late-night parties in a melancholy mood"
